WW2 British Africa Star Clasp – “NORTH AFRICA 1942–43”

A genuine Second World War “NORTH AFRICA 1942–43” clasp for the Africa Star, an original wartime issue in brass, designed to be fitted to the ribbon of the Africa Star to denote service during one of the most pivotal phases of the North African Campaign.

The clasp was awarded to personnel who served with the British and Commonwealth forces between 23 October 1942 and 12 May 1943, covering the decisive battles from El Alamein through to the final surrender of Axis forces in Tunisia. This period marked the turning point in the desert war, involving the Eighth Army’s advance across Libya and the joint British–American push into Tunisia.

WW2 clasps are increasingly sought after on their own, whether to complete a medal group, replace a missing clasp, or display as part of a wider campaign collection. Original North Africa clasps are especially appealing, as they relate directly to the most iconic actions of the desert war.

A clean, original example—ideal for completing an Africa Star or for inclusion in a WW2 medal collection.
