- Special Constabulary Long Service Medal
Mounted together on a single bar with correct period-style ribbons, this unusual grouping represents a man who saw overseas service in the First World War—further distinguished by a Mention in Despatches—followed decades later by recognised home-service duties during the Second World War and long-term commitment as a Special Constable.
Groups spanning both wars and including a WW1 MID together with a civil long-service award are not often encountered, making this an especially interesting and characterful set. Miniatures of this type were privately purchased for wear at mess functions, parades and regimental or police reunions, and remain popular with collectors for the narrative they represent.
