A desirable and genuine First World War clasp for the 1914 Star, correctly stamped “5th AUG.–22nd NOV. 1914” across the face. This original bronze bar was awarded only to those who had served under fire or within range of the enemy in France or Belgium during the critical opening months of the war, from the British Expeditionary Force’s arrival in August 1914 through the retreat from Mons and the battles of the Marne, Aisne and First Ypres.
