WW2 British Medal Group of Five – Royal Engineers, 8th Army Service
A good original Second World War British medal group of five, awarded to a member of the Royal Engineers, comprising the 1939–45 Star, Africa Star with 8th Army clasp, Italy Star, Defence Medal, and War Medal 1939–45.
The group represents service with the Eighth Army during the North African campaign, followed by subsequent operations in Italy, together with qualifying defence service and general war service. Personnel of the Royal Engineers played a vital role throughout both theatres, undertaking field engineering, construction, and support duties in demanding operational conditions.
The medals are accompanied by their original issue box, addressed to Walworth, London, together with the original medal entitlement slip, which confirms the recipient’s full entitlement. The survival of both the addressed box and documentation adds useful provenance and completeness to the group.
A well-balanced and attractive WW2 campaign group, ideal for display, further research, or a Royal Engineers–focused collection.
