Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal (2002)
Instituted in 2002 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the accession of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Golden Jubilee Medal was awarded to selected members of the Armed Forces, emergency services, and other qualifying recipients in recognition of loyal and valuable service.
The medal is struck in cupro-nickel and bears the diademed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse, with the reverse inscribed “Elizabeth II · Dei Gratia Regina · Fid Def” and the dates 1952–2002, marking the period of the Golden Jubilee. It is suspended from the distinctive red, white, and blue ribbon, symbolising national service and allegiance to the Crown.
