National Service Medal (Unofficial) – Full-Size Commemorative Award
A clean and attractive example of the National Service Medal, an unofficial commemorative award created to recognise and honour the men who undertook compulsory military service in the United Kingdom between 1945 and 1963. Although not an official MoD-issued decoration, this medal has become widely collected and is often worn at reunions, remembrance events and veterans’ gatherings.
These medals were produced to provide long-overdue recognition for the hundreds of thousands of men who completed National Service, whether deployed overseas, stationed in the UK, or serving in support and administrative roles during the early Cold War period.
A popular commemorative medal and a fitting tribute to those who served.
