Owned and managed his own Printing Firm in London W. White & Sons

 

Enlisted into the 1st London Divisional Engineers Volunteers 5th April 1894 (Territorial Force 1st April 1908)

 

To Egypt 30th March 1915 with 510 London Field Coy., Royal Engineers 

 

Served 9 months at Gallipoli

 

Suffered with Dysentery and Malaria, evacuated to Malta

 

Later served 9 months France and Belgium

 

Huge service file available online with lots of detail both pre war and wartime

 

Address on discharge: 33 Temple St., Hackney Rd., E2

 

His wife Clara did work for the London City Council - see medal that comes with group
