Alexander McAdam was from Govan, Glasgow and served in the 5th Battalion (City of Glasgow) Highland Light Infantry during the First World War. He was Killed in Action in Palestine on the 8th November 1917 and is buried in Gaza War Cemetery. 

His pension card confirms he left behind a wife and 3 sons, one of which was James.

James McAdam was born on the 25th July 1911 and served in his Dad's Regiment during the Second World War. Seeing action with the 2nd HLI as part of the 8th Army, the war took him to North Africa and Italy. He later saw service with the Seaforth Highlanders in Malaya. His medal index card confirms he lived at 115, Brighton St., Govan, Glasgow. His WW2 medals were sent to him in two lots, first the Africa star and War medal, then the Defence, 1939-45 Star, and Italy star.
