Born Kirkcaldy, Fifie, Scotland

Worked as a Miner when he enlisted aged 21 in Kirkcaldy, 12th March 1884

Private Robertson saw active service during the Nile Expedition 1884-5 and was awarded the Egyptian Medal 1884-5, clasps Nile 1884-5 & Kirbekan, as well as the Khedive's Bronze Star. For his service during the Boer War he received the Queen's South Africa Medal.
