Private Stephen Whiting

Born Bradford, Yorks

Served in WW1 with the 8th Bn. Duke of Wellington's (West Riding) Regiment

First saw action in Gallipoli before then being deployed to France

Died of Wounds 17th September 1916 - Battle of the Somme

A few days before the Battalion had seen the Attack and capture of The Wonder Work

Aged 20

Son of William and Jane Whiting, of 117 De Grey St. Bradford, Yorks

Buried in Boulogne Eastern Cemetery
