Served 8th Bn. Manchester Regiment

Died of Wounds 31st August 1918

Son of William and Mary Ellen Mapleston, of 1, Welcome St., Higher Openshaw, Manchester; husband of Mary Jane Mapleston, of 45, George St., Abbey Hey, Gorton, Manchester.

Buried in Bagneux British Cemetery, Geazincourt

Arrived at 1/2nd East Lancashire Field Ambulance on the 31st August 1918 but had died as he got there. Death was due to multiple gunshot wounds
