The reverse is plain, as issued. It is fitted with its distinctive ribbon of \u003cb\u003elight blue, black and pale blue\u003c\/b\u003e, symbolising the \u003cb\u003enight sky and RAF operations conducted over enemy-occupied Europe\u003c\/b\u003e.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\"\u003eTo qualify, aircrew were required to complete \u003cb\u003eat least two months of operational flying\u003c\/b\u003e over Europe.
