He saw active service in \u003cb\u003eFrance \u0026amp; Flanders\u003c\/b\u003e with the \u003cb\u003e2nd Battalion\u003c\/b\u003e, one of the regiment’s regular battalions that went to France in August 1914 and fought continuously throughout the war.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;\"\u003eMcKellar is recorded as having been \u003cb\u003ewounded on 21 June 1915\u003c\/b\u003e, his name appearing in the official War Office casualty list. As a result, he became entitled to wear the \u003cb\u003eWound Stripe\u003c\/b\u003e, authorised under Army Order 204 of 6 July 1916.
